Texas Wing Cadet Training & Education Program (CTEP)
About CTEP
The Cadet Training and Education Program (CTEP) is made up of four different leadership schools designed to assist cadets as they progress through the cadet program. These courses give cadets both the knowledge and skills to lead cadets at their level of responsibility. OTS and CCSC make up parts 1 and 2 of RCLS credit and will only be credited after a cadet has attended both schools.
NOTE: Cadets must be promoted to the required grade prior to the start date, not time in grade.
Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) - C/SSgt to C/MSgt
Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (SNCOA) - C/MSgt to C/CMSgt
Officer Training School (OTS) - C/2dLt to C/Maj
Cadet Command Staff College (CCSC) - C/Capt with OTS Credit to C/Col
The Training Leaders of Cadets courses are the premiere venue for Cadet Programs Officers to learn how to become better mentors to cadets and how to become effective managers of cadet/composite squadrons. The basic and intermediate course will be offered. All senior members need to have completed TLC prior to serving on staff.
NOTE:
Texas Wing is hosting a Cadet Command Staff College (CCSC). The other three CTEP courses will not be offered this cycle as the program is going through curriculum revisions. The Region Cadet Leadership School (RCLS) is also currently going through program updates at the National level. The purpose of this course is to offer previous Officer Training School (OTS) CTEP graduates the opportunity to earn RCLS credit (CAP regulation 60-1, chapter 5) and therefore not delay any Texas Wing Cadets from achieving the Eaker Award.
Only Cadet First Lieutenants (C/1st Lt) and above that have completed Officer Training School (OTS) are eligible to attend.
Please go to the Cadet Command Staff College webpage for additional details, including student and cadet staff applications.
