Winter Encampment 2025
20 December 2025 UPDATES:
Base Access Form: The base access form was turned off at the deadline posted below as Sheppard AFB needed enough time to vet the several hundred parents and guests that plan on attending graduation. It will not be turned back on as names have been submitted to the base already. If someone wants to attend graduation that did not submit their information, we would suggest arriving at the Main Gate of Sheppard AFB at least one hour prior to graduation to allow them enough time to process a visitors' pass. They will need a real ID identified by a star in the upper right-hand corner. Sheppard AFB has denied access to anyone with a criminal history.
11 December 2025 UPDATES:
Base Access Form: must be filled out for any person 16 and older that needs access to Sheppard Air Force Base. This includes students 16 and older with driver's license or permit/state ID/passport, parents or other family members or friends coming to graduation, or any squadron members that are helping with transportation and need to get on base for pick-up. (Drop-off will be OUTSIDE the base gates.) DEADLINE is 2359 (11:59pm) Sunday night, 14 December 2025 as we must submit this list to Sheppard Air Force Base on Monday, 15 December. If you have a Military ID that you know that provides base access, you do NOT need to complete the form.
Cadets need to bring two paper forms WITH THEM to Encampment. The CAP Form 60-81 MUST be signed by the cadet, a parent AND your squadron commander, so do not wait until the last minute to collect these. The CAP Form 163 allows us to give cadet Over-the Counter Medications and MUST be signed by a parent if the cadet is under 18 years old. We realize the Parent Portal is rolling out on Eservices; however, we are not equipped to process these brand new enhancements and are requiring the PAPER FORMS for winter encampment.
Flight emails should be coming out no later than this weekend, so keep watching your email to see what flight you/your cadet is in.
Finally--if your cadet is flying into Wichita Falls Regional Airport, you MUST email us the flight information as soon as possible to ensure we can pick up and return your cadet. texasencampment@txwg.cap.gov

20 November 2025 Updates:
CEAP UPDATE
National has returned from furlough and is working with Finance to see what is possible for winter CEAP tuition and will update the CEAP website as soon as information is available.
OCP UPDATE
Per the Interim Change Letter effective 1 NOV 25, students and cadre (staff) at encampment will be permitted to wear the new OCP uniform. ABUs are also still allowed, so there is no pressure to obtain OCPs. However, if personnel do choose to wear OCPs to encampment, it is THEIR responsibility to ensure that they have ALL required items to wear the OCP uniform properly in accordance with the Wear Instructions, found in Interim Change Letter 25-06 at the beginning of CAPR 39-1.
In true Texas tradition, this winter's encampment will host over 150 basic cadets. With the support of our Senior mentors, our experienced cadet cadre and our students, we are going to excel at quality cadet education, leadership, aerospace and drill. Our basic cadets will have the opportunity to advance in physical training, gain ideas on where they want their CAP career to go, meet new friends while most importantly having fun! This is a requirement to attend the many National Cadet Activities on top of promoting to Cadet Second Lieutenant.

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR T-SHIRT SIZE by clicking on your name in the top right hand corner of eServices and choosing “Characteristics”.
ALSO NOTE that Sheppard Air Force Base dining facilities will be preparing all meals, but they are not able to guarantee things will be gluten free, vegetarian, etc. Make sure CAP Health is updated regarding allergies and food preferences and we will ATTEMPT to accommodate what we are able, but you may need to bring some of your own food if you have unusual or strict dietary needs.
